Wind Energy America Completes Commissioning of Gamesa G-87 2.0-MW Wind Turbine in Iowa

Wind Energy America announced that it has completed the commissioning of one of the two Gamesa G-87 2.0-MW wind turbines that is part of its Zachary Ridge LLC wind farm. The wind farm is located on Buffalo Ridge in Iowa.

The Dayton Power and Light Company to Test Alternative Fuels at its Power Plants

A new program has been initiated by The Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L) for using alternative fuels to operate its power plants. This new initiative is part of the company’s attempt to diversify its fuel mix for its power plants. DP&L has been trying out biofuels at its Killen Electric Generating Station, which is located in the state of Ohio.

ACCIONA Energy’s Wind Power Capacity Increases by 49% in 2009 in Spain

By adding 1,308 MW of wind power capacity in 2009, ACCIONA Energy has increased its total wind capacity to about 4,000 MW in Spain, which confirms with the data released by Spanish Wind Power Association (AEE).

FriWa Heat Exchange Modules for Solar Applications from RESOL

The FriWa heat exchange module is designed to suit low temperature heating systems and solar thermal heating systems. Its housing is made of PC-ABS and PMMA plastic. This heat exchange controller is available with the dimensions, 227 x 156 x 62mm. It incorporates three pushbuttons at its front for smooth operation and operates in 220 to240V power.

Sunelco Offers KC-130TM Solar Modules

Sunelco supplies the Kyocera brand of solar modules. The KC-130TM solar module generates a maximum power of 130 watts at a maximum current and voltage of 7.39 amperes and 17.6 volts, respectively. The open circuit voltage and short circuit current of this solar module are 21.9 volts and 8.02 amperes, respectively. The module from Sunelco has an overall conversion efficiency of over 15 per cent and is manufactured using multicrystalline solar cells that are available in overall sizes of four inches and six inches.

NE-80EJE Solar Modules from Sundance Solar Systems

Sundance Solar Systems supplies a range of Sharp solar modules. The NE-80EJE solar module is a multicrystalline type that generates a maximum power of 80 watts. It produces power at a maximum voltage and current of 17.1 volts and 4.67 amperes, respectively. The minimum power generated by the solar module is 72 watts. The NE-80EJE photovoltaic module has a conversion efficiency of 12.60 per cent with an encapsulated solar efficiency of 14 per cent. The short circuit current and open circuit voltage are 5.3 amperes and 21.3 volts, respectively.
