GO Group’s Joint Survey Discusses About Reducing Carbon Footprint While Traveling

The GO Group, a provider of global ground transportation, and Chicago-based GO Airport Express jointly carried out a survey and found that the travelers are an eco-conscious group.

According the survey, 71% of the respondents have said that the reduction of carbon footprint and attempts made to minimize the same while traveling are considered significant.

The companies offering door-to-door airport shuttle services questioned the travelers about the significance of minimizing their carbon footprint during the travel. The question received positive responses from more than 2000 people. 13% of the participants considered that the reduction of carbon footprint was not significant, wheras 15% people were not concerned on that front.

According to John McCarthy, The Go Group’s President, the survey results show the environmental awareness of the travelers and the company will find the ways continuously to help the travelers in minimizing their carbon footprint. Shared rides are considered to be green rides. Only 30% of the fuel will be consumed by a van carrying six people, when compared to those six driving in separate cars, and emitted carbon will be 54% less, John stated.

Most of the companies belonging to the GO Group, which also include Dallas-Ft. Worth, Milwaukee's General Mitchell International, Puerto Rico's Luis Munoz Marin International, Seattle-Tacoma International and San Francisco International, are converting their fleets to use alternative fuels such as propane or compressed natural gas (CNG). Other GO Companies in Chicago and Los Angeles are also carrying out the same process.
