Fuel Tech Rreceives Multiple Air Pollution Control Orders Totaling $5 Million

Fuel Tech, Inc., a world leader in advanced engineering solutions for the optimization of combustion systems in utility and industrial applications, today announced receipt of multiple air pollution control (APC) orders totaling $5.0 million.

The principal order, placed by an electric utility customer in the Mid-Atlantic region, covers the supply and installation of NOxOUT® Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) systems on three units at a single power generation site. The systems will be designed to enable the client to satisfy its nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction compliance plan as required under federal and state multi-pollutant regulations, with equipment deliveries scheduled for late 2008.

In addition to the foregoing, a contract was secured for an industrial SNCR demonstration project in the Mid-Atlantic region while, internationally, an order was received for a small NOxOUT CASCADE® system for an electric utility operating in Guadeloupe, a French territory in the Caribbean Sea.

John F. Norris Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “We are pleased to have won our first APC order with this domestic utility client and to have been afforded the opportunity to expand our business relationship further with this existing FUEL CHEM® customer.”

Mr. Norris concluded, “As regards the Guadeloupe project, it is indeed gratifying to see market acceptance of NOxOUT CASCADE technology, our newest and most advanced approach for NOx reduction. We believe this technology offers a very high level of NOx removal at very competitive prices and has great potential in U.S. and international markets.”
