The Sherwin-Williams Company Develops Goals for Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

The Sherwin-Williams Company has guaranteed to reduce its overall emissions of US greenhouse gas from the year 2007 to 2010. The company aims in achieving a reduction of 4% in greenhouse gas emissions by joining with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Climate Leader program. The Sherwin-Williams Company joined this program in the year 2007.

An EPA industry-government partnership called Climate Leaders operates with companies in order to establish appropriate measures to control climate change. Companies that are part of this Environmental Protection Agency’s partnership have decided to develop a corporate-wide inventory to highlight the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from all these companies. It has also decided to develop firm goals to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas and an annual report of this reduction process will be submitted to the US Environmental Protection Agency. Companies will maintain a record of these inventory reports in order to acquire the status of corporate environmental leaders from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
