Granite Reliable Power Windpark Orders Wind Turbines from Vestas

Vestas has received an order from Granite Reliable Power Windpark for the supply of 33 numbers of V90-3.0 MW wind turbines totaling 99 MW. Service and maintenance agreement for a period of two years is also included in the order. Noble Environmental Power owns a majority stake in the 99-MW wind project.

In the New Hampshire state, the Granite Reliable Power Windpark is the second and largest commercial wind power facility to be developed. The project is currently under development and is anticipated to begin operations during 2011 second half. In the first half of 2011, the wind turbines will be delivered for the project.

President of Vestas Americas, Martha Wyrsch, said the wind project provides an opportunity to exploit the wind energy potential in the state. The project demonstrates the growing America’s dependence on wind power, commented Wyrsch.

CEO of Noble Environmental Power, Walter Howard, said the company is delighted to supply V90-3.0 MW wind turbines for the Granite Reliable Power Windpark. Howard commented that the turbines supplied by the company will maximize wind resources in the project to provide clean and reliable energy to New England.

Noble, which has its headquarters in Connecticut, has currently 726 MW of wind power projects in operation in Texas and New York. Across the U.S., the company has many wind power projects in development stages totaling 1,900 MW.
