SOLON Launches the SOLON SCADA System at Intersolar 2010

During June 9-11 at the solar energy trade fair Intersolar 2010 in Munich, Germany, solar energy products manufacturer SOLON presented a tool for remotely monitoring and controlling solar power plants.

Being a web-based control, reporting and monitoring system, the SOLON SCADA is designed for applications in the large-scale power plant and energy provider sectors. The system provides 24-hour, real-time data on a power plant such as information on components and current output as well as detailed analyses.

The SOLON features a WEB 2.0 interface that facilitates operators to remotely monitor, in addition to provide and control maintenance work on solar power plants. Moreover, this system does not require any additional software. By connecting to the Internet, users can access information on the production, weather and system. It also provides target/actual analyses, business case reports and trend charts. The SOLON SCADA system’s modular design facilitates it to be seamlessly adapted to various power plants, irrespective of type or size.

This user-friendly system complies with the existing U.S. and German guidelines. It can facilitate the integration of a broad range of control interfaces. The various industrial components utilized in this system are durable and certified.
