XsunX Introduces Patented CIGSolar Technology

XsunX, Inc, a company focused on the formulation and developing of advanced thin-film photovoltaic (TFPV) solar cell technologies, declared that it has succeeded in producing solar cells utilizing the patented CIGSolar technology that exceeds 14% solar power conversion competence.

The success affirms the contention of the company that only the limited area co-evaporation production feature offers the right platform to produce highly effective CIGS established solar cells that can vie and ably substitute the existing silicon PV technology.

The company performed the depositing process of CIGS layers over a full sized 125 mm square substrate. It used the similar test arrangements followed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and fine-tuned its test equipment to the standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to measure the efficiency of the layers.

XsunX is trying to introduce a new production procedure to manufacture cost effective and highly efficient thin-film CIGS solar cells. The company utilizes a mix of thin-film photovoltaic (TFPV) development know-how with a choice of magnetic media thin-film production applications used in the industries manufacturing hard disc drives. The company conceives that by utilizing a small area and high production capability technique it can cut down most of the shortcomings that haunt the large scale manufacturing techniques currently utilized.
