XsunX Signs Agreement with Telecomps for CIGSolar Technology

XsunX, a developer of thin film PV (TFPV) solar cell technologies, has declared it has signed an agreement with Telecomps Technology for using its CIGSolar technology.

As per the agreement, XsunX and Telecomps would work jointly for completing the CIGSolar solar module assembly capacities for production of solar modules utilizing the XsunX CIGSolar cells. According to the COO and President of XsunX, Joseph Grimes, this deal would be beneficial for both the companies. Telecomps being an emerging leader in the module assembly business would give them a boost and aid in the speedy adoption of the CIG Solar technology in the Chinese market. The company’s target was the silicon module manufacturing industry. Many other manufacturers were also demonstrating their interest in their low- cost alternative to silicon i.e. CIGSolar technology.

Telecomps was established in 1991, and since then it has built up proficiency in the electronics component segment. Telecomps specializes in both thin film and silicon module assembly. XsunX has developed a high efficiency and low- cost thin film CIGS thin film solar cells and is offering licenses for using the CIGSolar technology and gaining revenues from manufacturing royalties and licensing fees.
