SOLON to Supply 1.22 MW Solar Power System for UniSource Energy Services

SOLON, a producer of crystalline silicon solar modules and supplier of turnkey solar power plants in the U.S., declared that it has signed a deal with UniSource Energy Services (UES) to supply a 1.22 MW solar system to Kingman, Arizona.

The plant, powered by SOLON modules and systems, will allow UES to improve its renewable energy portfolio.

SOLON mono- and polycrystalline solar modules

The solar system will be installed on six acres of land owned by the Kingman Unified School District and will be owned and operated by UES. SOLON will supply the solar panels and support the development. The solar system will have single-axis trackers and over 5,000 UL-certified 235 W solar panels supplied by SOLON from its Tucson production facility. The solar installation will also have a SCADA system supplied by SOLON to monitor and control the power production remotely. The solar system installation will be assisted by contractors from local Mohave County and is anticipated to get completed by 2011 end.

The proposed solar installation, in addition to assisting UES to fulfill its renewable energy goals, will bring revenues of around $1 million to $1.5 million to the local economy.
