Xianyang District Geothermal Heating Project Developed by Geysir Green Energy

Geysir Green Energy is developing geothermal energy in different parts of the world, including China, the US, Germany and Iceland. The geothermal project in China is the Xianyang Geothermal District Heating project.

The advantage of this geothermal power plant in Xianyang is that it has replaced traditional coal burning heating systems in the area that otherwise cause pollution and are unsafe. The geothermal heating system, developed by Geysir Green Energy, has also been installed in a number of new facilities that would traditionally be powered by coal. The project completed its first phase in the year 2006. The project now consists of eight geothermal wells and five heat centrals. A total peak load capacity of 100 MW and base load capacity of 63 MW are produced by the project for the region of Xianyang, which covers an area of 1,000,000 square meters.

The operations at the Xianyang Geothermal District Heating project offset a total of 33 tonnes of fossil fuel every year, keeping the environment clean and green. In 2009, Geysir Green Energy aims to provide energy to another 500,000 square meters in the region. The main aim of the project is to be sufficient enough to provide energy to a total of 15 million square meters by the year 2015.
