Industrial Nanotech’s Nansulate Can Provide Significant Energy Savings

Nanoscience energy saving solutions provider Industrial Nanotech, Inc., has now become an ALLY organization of the Industrial Technologies Program ‘Save Energy Now’ of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The Save Energy Now initiative aims to reduce industrial energy intensity by around 25% in 10 years time. In order to achieve this goal, the Industrial Technologies Program of DOE is collaborating with Save Energy Now ALLY Organizations and Save Energy Now LEADER Companies.

Industrial Nanotech’s V.P. Business Development Francesca Crolley stated that the goal of reducing industrial energy intensity by around 25% can be achieved by assessing places in facilities and factories where the company’s Nansulate coatings, a nanotechnology-based coating, can be applied for insulating roofs, building envelope, boilers and steam pipes among others. The technology reduces the amount of energy used for cooling and heating. Nansulate has a proven history of reducing energy expenses by around 10–20% in factories.

In 2008, Henateks, a textile producer for companies such as Adidas and Nike, applied Nansulate insulation coatings on their steam boilers, dye machines and heat exchangers among others and thereby achieved 20% reduction in energy savings. This translated into cost savings of more than $460,000 and reduced the consumption of liquid natural gas (LNG) by 1,980,943 m3.
