Boots on the Roof to Introduce Three Novel Master Certificates in Renewable Energy

Owing to increased demand from consumers for renewable energy systems, Boots on the Roof will showcase its latest training and education innovation: three novel Master Certificates in Renewable Energy programs at the Intersolar 2010 Conference to be held during July 13-15, 2010 at the Moscone Center West Hall in San Francisco. Training for each of the certificates will be provided through an accelerated program model, designed to offer hands-on experience, instruction and post-certification assistance.

The three novel Master Certificates are: Green Energy that covers solar photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal and wind energy; Solar + Energy Retrofit that covers energy audits for determining energy efficiency of present structure; and Solar Expert that covers solar PV and solar thermal for small commercial and residential applications.

When Boots on the Roof commenced providing courses on the renewable energy technologies (wind, solar thermal and solar PV), it was presumed that students would register in technologies matching their expertise. It seemed as if HVAC workers and plumbers would opt for solar thermal training, whereas people with electrical expertise would go for wind and solar PV. However, most students wanted to gain knowledge in different technologies in an effort to broaden their specialization.

In 2008, Boots on the Roof commenced offering renewable energy training programs by pooling together veterans from the energy as well as the education industry.
