Windpower Innovations has unveiled its wholly owned subsidiary, Energetic Drives, as its innovation division. The flagship technology of the subsidiary, Grid Tie Inverter Software, makes use of proprietary algorithms for drastically increasing the range under which the sustainable energy sources will be able to deliver a 60 Hz AC directly to the power grid.
Ian K Griffiths, CEO and President of Energetic Drives, has mentioned that the company is estimating an increase in the efficiency rates by 25%, while adding that, for producing useable electricity, the traditional wind turbine, depending on pole numbers, will be generating about 1200–1800 RPMs. Griffiths also mentioned that the company’s technology allows for a constant 120% utilization of wind turbines’ generator ratings, while employing their cooling system, thus allowing for the production of clean energy over a wider wind speed range.
