The Service Committee of the Avon City Council has been discussing the possibility of bringing in wind energy into the city. Mayor Jim Smith has mentioned that the city has received a number of proposals for wind energy. The mayor has mentioned that even though the technology is old, wind turbines are very new to the city, as such.
Avon is currently being approached by various companies that want to install different kinds of wind turbines, in different sizes and shapes as well. Avon is exploring the possibility of installing wind turbines at two sites in the city French Creek Y and the All Pro Freight Stadium.
Committee members of the city have opined that they would like to go ahead with the installation of wind turbines in any design so that they can help the Avon city in reducing its electric bills.
