The Gibara II wind farm, situated in the Gibara municipality in Cuba, has entered an adjustments stage to its implementation. Situated near the Holguin province, this new wind plant, using the wind turbines of Goldwind, would be having a full capacity of producing 10 GWh of electrical energy annually.
Located in Punta Rosa, the Gibara II wind farm comprises six wind turbines of Goldwind with 750 kW capacity each totaling to 4.5 MW capacity. The wind turbine blades of Goldwind are 25 meters long.
The wind turbines of Goldwind generate electricity at wind speeds of 11 meters for every second. Meanwhile, the architect of this project Pedro Dorta has commented that investment on this project was initiated in the year 2009. This wind energy project would definitely benefit the Cuban wind energy industry.
