Turkey Plans Wind Turbine Manufacturing Facility at Bandýrma

The construction of the proposed GESBEY wind turbine manufacturing facility at Bandýrma in the western province of Balýkesir in Turkey has commenced recently. The total investment for the construction is expected to go up to 30 million Euros.

The wind tower manufacturing factory is constructed with the collaboration between Faik Çelik Holding of Turkey and Gestamp Wind Steel of Spain. According to a statement released by Faik Çelik Holding, the factory constructed over an area of 47,000 square meters in the industrial zone of Bandýrma is designed to manufacture around 450 wind turbines annually. The turbines manufactured in the factory will be exported to countries such as Greece, Bulgaria and Rumania in addition to their use in the domestic market of Turkey.

The wind turbine manufacturing facility is expected to start its production by the end of the year and will offer employment opportunities to 300 workers from the locality.
