Nordex to Install Wind Turbines in Turkey

Nordex a Germany based wind turbine manufacturing company, has recently received an order from Dost Enerji, a wind farm operator from Turkey, to supply six numbers of N90/2500 wind turbines for the proposed additions of its Yuntdag project.

Wind Farm

The company is currently constructing the Akres wind farm project for Karesi Enerji, an auxiliary company of Best, a transformer producing company in Turkey. The Akres project will incorporate 18 numbers of N90/2500 wind turbines produced by Nordex. The Akres wind farm is situated near Akhisar, a city located west of Turkey. The windy location provides around 42% of wind production factor. The 45 MW Akres wind farm is expected to generate over 170 gWh of clean wind energy per year to provide electricity to over 90,000 houses in Turkey. The wind farm will be commissioned and handed over to Karesi Enerji during the summer of 2011.

The extension order Yuntdag wind farm denotes the confidence of Dost Enerji in the performance of Nordex. Earlier Nordex had constructed a wind farm for Yuntdag in 2007 with 17 N90/2500 wind turbines. With the anticipated addition of six wind turbines in 2011 the total power generation of Yuntdag is expected to reach 59 gWh per annum. Ayhan Gök, CEO of Nordex in Turkey, said that his company is known for its turnkey projects competency world wide. He added that his company will prove its project management capabilities in Turkey.
