WindPower Innovations Inks Letter of Intent to Produce Next Generation Wind Turbines

WindPower Innovations, Inc., a smart grid solutions and wind energy infrastructure firm, has signed a letter of Intent agreement with Wind Sail Receptor, Inc., a technology firm researching in wind-capturing techniques, to manufacture wind turbines with high efficiency and advanced technologies.

The firms plan to form a strategic alliance to produce the new generation wind turbines. According to the alliance, WindPower Innovations will supply wind turbine electronic parts and generators to Wind Sail Receptor. The two firms did not confirm the specifications, pricing and terms, which will be confirmed in an office contract to follow.

President and CEO of WindPower Innovations, John Myers stated that his company’s electronic components and permanent magnet generators are an ideal match for the technologically superior blade design of Wind Sail Receptor.

The Chief Technical Officer of WindPower Innovations, Ian Griffiths said that WindPower Innovations’ grid-tie inverter and permanent magnet generators along with superior blade design of Wind Sail Receptor would increase the efficiency of the wind turbines. About 60Hz ac power can be produced constantly from a grid-tie inverter and permanent magnet generators, a better result compared to the conventional wind turbines under the conditions of 1.0 unity factor and 20 to 125% of rated power, he added.
