Ryanair Receives Fuel-Efficient Aircraft from Boeing

Boeing has announced that it has supplied the 300th Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Ryanair, a low-fare airline of Europe. During this year, the airline has planned to procure 37 of these aircrafts from Boeing. The first delivery of Boeing 737-800 aircraft was made in 1999.

Michael O'Leary, Chief Executive of Ryanair, has stated that the net worth of their fleet is around $18 billion. He mentioned that they are operating Europe’s latest, eco-friendly and fuel-efficient aircrafts. He added that the new aircraft will enable them to serve 78 million passengers with lesser fare and no fuel surcharges, making them as the passengers’ most preferred airline.

According to Marlin Dailey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the delivery of the 737-800 aircraft to Ryanair is an honor to the Boeing 737, indicating the potency and competency of the business strategy of Ryanair. He added that Boeing 737 provides an exceptional combined set of economics, offering Ryanair a competitive edge over the other airlines in the market.

Boeing 737-800 is considered as the most successful selling model of the Next-Generation of 737 series.  Boeing 737-800 is known for its competency, fuel-efficiency and performance. It has been opted by major international airlines due to its adaptability to support several markets.

The recently delivered Boeing 737 is 5% more fuel-efficient than its previous versions supplied in 1999. The company is planning to launch another range of 737 aircraft with additional 2% fuel-efficiency. The performance enhancement package of Boeing has been authorized and 2% fuel-efficiency has been achieved with the help of aerodynamic and engine modifications. Analysis and authorizations are likely to continue till 2012.
