Tennant Company Uses COP15 as Backdrop for Showcasing Sustainable Cleaning Solutions

In a move to leverage the presence world leaders at the COP15 conference, Tennant Company will display its innovative indoor and outdoor cleaning solutions at the conference venue. Using the climate change policy makers’ conference as a backdrop, the company will present its new lithium-ion battery-powered sweeper and proprietary ec-H2O technology - solutions that are claimed to support the COP15 theme.

Featured as the centerpiece, will be the company’s proprietary ec-H2O technology. The ec-H2O is an environment-friendly product that facilitates effective and chemical-free cleaning. This technology temporarily alters the molecular structure of water, converting plain water into a cleaning agent. On activation, the water removes dirt more effectively than common chemical detergents.

Available in all floor-scrubbing machines from Tennant, this technology is also used in hand-held sprays, under license, by Activeion, LLC. In 2009, the ec-H2O technology fetched Tennant the European Business Award for Innovation.

Tennant will also provide a preview on its new urban outdoor sweeper, designed for operation on lithium-ion batteries. The 500ze outdoor sweeper, whose formal launch is scheduled for the first half of 2010, will be used by Bella Center for cleaning operations around the COP15 conference facility.

Providing immense environmental benefits, this sweeper features zero-emission operations. In addition to nil exhaust or carbon dioxide emissions, reduced noise levels make it suitable for early morning as well as daytime cleaning.
