In an industry increasingly defined by change and quickening developments, clarity around trends, regulation, finance, and technology has become one of the rarest commodities. Technology evolves, regulation shifts, and investment cycles tighten. In such a landscape, the most valuable fuel isn’t only hydrogen, ammonia, or SAF – it’s knowledge.
We spoke with Topsoe’s Lisbeth Høier Harpsøe, who shares her perspective on how professionals can stay updated, why knowledge exchange matters more than ever, and how Topsoe is helping connect the dots through platforms such as The Fuel for Thought podcast, SAF Talks video series, and the BrainFuel newsletter.
Where do you go to keep yourself updated on the latest in the energy and fuels industry?
I try to keep a wide lens. That includes trade magazines, energy sector thought leaders, and key industry reports, as well as conversations with colleagues who work across the value chain. Insights often surface where practical experience meets strategic discussion.
Podcasts and webinars have become an essential part of that mix for me. They allow me to hear directly from people who are acting on opportunities or overcoming challenges, whether that’s project financing, certification, or scaling production. The combination of written analysis, real-world dialogue, and diverse perspectives helps me build a more comprehensive understanding of how the energy transition is unfolding.
Why is knowledge sharing so important in such a fast-moving field?
Because progress depends on shared understanding, regulation, financing, and technology evolve faster than any single company can track alone. When we share insights openly, we help each other make better decisions and move more quickly toward common goals.
At Topsoe, we see this every day with our customers. Our on-site work is rooted in knowledge, experience, and expertise, helping our customers turn new technologies into efficient operations. What we do online, through our podcasts, articles, and video interviews, mirrors the same principle: shared progress informed by real experience.

What inspired Topsoe to launch initiatives like The Fuel for Thought podcast and SAF Talks?
We realised that many of the most valuable discussions were happening in meetings, conferences, or site visits, but they weren’t reaching a wider audience. The Fuel for Thought podcast brings those conversations online and makes them available to everyone, offering a space where experts across aviation, refining, and policy can share their insights openly.
SAF Talks continues that exchange face-to-face, with short, focused video interviews that bring together the people building the market and infrastructure for sustainable aviation fuels. These platforms reflect our broader role as a technology and knowledge partner. By connecting expertise across the industry, we can support faster progress in the sector and stronger customer outcomes.

How does the BrainFuel newsletter complement these other formats?
Our BrainFuel newsletter is designed for people who want concise, curated insights into technology, products, policy, and market developments. Each edition distils what is changing, what is new, and why it matters. It complements the more extended conversations in the podcast and the discussions at SAF Talks.
Together, these channels form an ecosystem of knowledge sharing that extends what Topsoe does on-site into a digital space. They help bridge experience from research and operations to decision-making, which ultimately strengthens the success factors of our customers and partners.
What’s next for knowledge sharing at Topsoe?
We’ll continue to build on what works, bringing experts together in meaningful conversation and making complex developments easier to understand. Digital formats, such as our webinars and the online training platform, Topsoe Academy, will continue to expand, alongside live events and direct customer collaboration.
Knowledge will remain the common thread. It guides better judgment, reduces uncertainty, and turns ambition into action. Every dialogue adds value because every shared insight moves us a step closer to collective progress within the energy landscape.
