Energy Efficient Ceiling Fan for Large Residential Spaces

Big Ass Fans®, the leading designer and manufacturer of large-diameter, low-speed ceiling and vertical fans, announces the debut of Isis®, an energy-efficient, ceiling fan for large, upscale residential spaces. This industrial-chic fan will be unveiled at the Imagine Your World with Isis cocktail party prior to the 2010 International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) on Friday, May 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Chelsea Art Museum in New York City.

Media and customers are invited to celebrate the launch and view two installed Isis fans the company has donated to the museum.

Unlike ordinary fans, Isis is precision-built using industrial-grade components. It is the world’s only fan engineered to dramatically improve circulation in spaces such as foyers, lofts, patios and great rooms. Isis was first introduced to the commercial and hospitality market, but is new to the residential market. The fan is available in three diameters – eight, nine and 10 feet. Isis comes in a standard aluminum finish, but is also available in chestnut, black, and white, or can be color-customized to match any interior décor.

Isis Technology

Isis uses a combination of size, shape, and speed to improve airflow in large spaces. The powerful, yet gentle circulation is due to the fan’s long, narrow airfoils made of aircraft-grade aluminum. Isis can cool an area of 1,600 square feet. In addition to keeping a room cool, its unique technology allows the fan to mix the warm air trapped at the ceiling in the winter, without the need to reverse the fan. Weighing less than 100 pounds, Isis can be installed in spaces with ceilings as low as 12 feet.

Energy Efficiency

Isis provides a sustainable and cost-effective method of controlling energy cost through improved circulation. On average, Isis revolves at one fifth the speed of a standard ceiling fan. One eight-foot Isis fan circulates air equivalent to nine standard ceiling fans while using only one third of the energy of one standard ceiling fan.

“The patented airfoil and winglet designs exclusive to Isis are what makes it unique. The airfoils optimize airflow to decrease drag and improve downward air velocity, and the upturned winglets improve airfoil efficiency, reduce turbulence, and stabilize airflow, thus increasing the overall efficiency of the fan,” said Rick Oleson, Research and Development Manager, Big Ass Fans. “Like all the fans we manufacture, each component of Isis has endured hundreds of hours of testing and analysis to ensure quality and safety.”

A hybrid of advanced engineering and industrial performance, Isis carries a limited lifetime warranty.
