Fortis America offers the Fortis Alizé 10kW wind turbine. This model incorporates a least noise producing three bladed rotor measuring 7.1 m. This wind turbine model has three Fiberglass reinforced polyester or epoxy blades with a blade profile of NLF 416. Each blade utilized in this model measures 3.3 m and offers a sweep area of 38.5 m². The blades in this wind turbine rotate clockwise with a rated speed of 25–300 rpm.
The Fortis Alizé 10kW wind turbine model provided by the Fortis America has a peak rated output of ~12 kW 14+ m/s. The generator in this wind turbine uses a permanent magnet alternator. The rotor axis angle of this wind turbine is 10° and the cone angle is 0°. This model incorporates a fixed pitch control and a right hub. For charging the current, this model has a 120 VDC battery. For connectivity to a grid this model utilizes 1Ø 240VAC or 3Ø 208VAC line-to-line or 3Ø 277VAC line-to-neutral option.
The Fortis Alizé 10kW wind turbine incorporates an inclined hinge tail vane furling mechanical brake or an alternator output electrical brake. The yaw control of this wind turbine is performed using passive alignment by tail vane. The towers of this model are constructed using self-supporting lattice (SSL). This wind turbine model has a total weight of 385 kg, a generator weight of 230 kg, a blade weight of 60 kg, and tail plus frame weight of 77 kg. This model incorporates 1 x SMA protection box as load controller per inverter with matched resistive diversion loads.
