WinWind offers the WinWind 3 MW wind turbine. This three bladed up wind type of wind turbine incorporates a rotor available in 90, 100 and 103 m diameter ranges and offers 6475, 7917 and 8332 m² swept areas, respectively.
The rotational speed of the rotor ranges from 5 to 18 rpm. The rotor hub of this wind turbine is directly connected to the gearbox utilizing a double-row tapered roller bearing. The bearing conveniently shifts the rotor load to the load carrying support structure thus allowing the drive train to remain without deformation. Moreover the planetary gear installed in the WinWind 3 MW wind turbine offered by WinWind increases the rotating speed of the turbine to a little extent and shifts the twisting force to a low speed permanent magnet generator thus allowing even load shifting.

This wind turbine starts operating at 4 m/s wind speed, produces its optimal power of 3 MW at 12.5 m/s wind speed, and ceases its operations when the wind crosses the speed range of 20–25 m/s. For managing the power control operations this wind turbine utilizes variable speed and variable pitch control. The turbine incorporated in the wind turbine utilizes a planetary gear with slow speed permanent magnet synchronous generator and full scale converters. The rotor of the wind turbine is installed over a steel tubular and concrete or steel hybrid tower measuring in heights ranging from 80 to 100 m.
For controlling the blade movements during high velocity wind speeds, an aerodynamic braking with individual electric pitch with emergency power supply is used. For stopping the wind turbine during emergency operations a hydraulic disc type of mechanical brake is used. This wind turbine can be operated in all types of weather conditions.
