WWD-1 1 MW Wind Turbine from WinWind

WinWind offers the WWD-1 1 MW wind turbine suitable for use in areas with transport or area limitations. This upwind type wind turbine comes with an active yaw and a three-blade rotor.

The rotor of this wind turbine is offered in 56, 60 and 64 m diameter sizes, rotates in the range of 8–26 rpm speed and cover 2463, 2827 and 3217 m² swept areas, respectively. The 56 m diameter rotor is more suitable for high wind locations while the 60 and 64 m diameter turbines are appropriate for use in low wind places. The WWD-1 1 MW wind turbine offered by WinWind incorporates a patented Multibrid technology, which includes an advanced planetary gear solution and a slow speed synchronous generator along with a dependable direct drive and a compact conventional high speed gear system.  This combination results in increased load management and low operational costs.

WWD-1 1 MW wind turbine

The rotor of the WWD-1 1 MW wind turbine is directly connected to the gear box casing by employing a double row tapered roller bearings thus transferring the load directly to the load carrying support structure and maintains the drive train of the turbine free from deformation. The frequency converter incorporated in the wind turbine transfers the full generator power thus achieving full power production even during low wind conditions. The double fed generator utilized in the model does not require slip rings. The cut in wind speed of this turbine is 3.6 m/s, and this wind turbine produces optimum power at 12.5 m/s wind speed. This wind turbine ceases its operations and stops rotating when the wind speed reaches the 20–25 m/s range. For power control and controlling the movement of blades, this wind turbine has variable speed and variable pitch control.

The WWD-1 1 MW wind turbine incorporates an aerodynamic individual electric pitch brake system with emergency power supply and a hydraulic disc brake as mechanical brake. This wind turbine is manufactured according to ISO 9001 standards.
