EDF EN Canada, an EDF Energies Nouvelles subsidiary that is a renewable energy company based in France, has started the construction work of its three solar PV projects based in Canada with a total capacity of 36 MW. Located near Lombardy in the Rideau Lakes township, the Elmsley solar project utilizes Suntech solar panels and consists of two 12-MW facilities. Similarly, the St. Isidore project located close to the St. Isidore town will be deploying First Solar panels.

All of the three facilities are currently being developed as per the renewable energy standard offer program (RESOP) of the Ontario government. The projects will be producing clean energy for around 10,500 homes and are likely to provide employment for around 350 people during the engineering, construction and design process. Having launched the construction phase of these projects, the company is putting into effect all its expertise and resources for achieving its renewable energy goals.
