Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) has announced that it is planning to build sports cars that are electric-powered. This follows three all-electric-drive Porsche Boxster cars that were developed for experiment purpose.
These test cars play an important role in Porsche’s recent initiative called Porsche Intelligent Performance, the company’s longstanding commitment towards combining greater efficiency together with the high performance of Porsche, thus reducing fuel emissions as well as consumption.
As part of this test, the three research cars are currently being driven for providing insight into novel battery systems and electric drive components that are being built by Porsche. Additionally, the results will throw more light into the infrastructure requirements of electromobility. Resultantly, future products would be designed and produced for meeting customer expectations.
