Catch the Wind Allows AXYS Technologies to Bundle its Vindicator(R) Laser Wind Sensor with AXYS Marine Products

Catch the Wind Ltd, a wind sensor manufacturing company, has declared the granting of an exclusive license to AXYS Technologies to integrate its Vindicator(R) Laser Wind Sensor with the regular marine floating platforms of AXYS and sell both the products together all over the world. This licensing follows an earlier signed agreement by the companies.

The licensing agreement signed for a period of five years will make it binding on AXYS to procure 47 numbers of Vindicator(R) LWS units from Catch the Wind over the next four years on a previously agreed purchase schedule. AXYS is planning to sell the LWS units along with its sea or saltwater marine floating platforms as a bundle. The Vindicator(R) LWS is a fully motion compensated unit manufactured to withstand tough marine level situations. The product utilizes a laser technology mixed with Doppler radar know-how to study the movement of air particles and verify the speed and direction of the wind. The LWS is manufactured to predict the movements of the wind, assessment of its speed and operation of wind turbines that will increase wind power generation and reduce maintenance costs of the wind turbines.

Philip L. Rogers, Catch the Wind’s President and CEO, explained that the  agreement with AXYS will help the company to hasten the process of commercializing its technology and product amongst the wind resources evaluation sector. He concluded saying that the distribution agreement with AXYS introduces an additional sales venue for their product and confirms the need for Vindicator technology in the wind turbine industry.
