Air Products to Strengthen the Photovoltaic Market in Malaysia

Air Products is all set to strengthen the photovoltaic market in Malaysia. The company has entered into a contract with Malaysia’s leading PV (photovoltaic) manufacturer towards the supply of the SunSource Solutions gases, services and equipment. This turnkey gas contract would enable the supply of specialty chemicals, specialty gases as well as the related equipment for gas distribution.

This move is towards supporting the customer’s new PV crystalline facility located in Melaka, Malaysia, while also strengthening the position of Air Products as a leading producer in the PV supply industry, globally. This contract would include long-term supply in gases such as nitrogen trifluoride, ammonia, silane, argon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. The solar cell manufacturing facility at Melaka will be aiming to reach capacities in excess of 1 GW of cells every year by 2012.
