RMT, a leader in Renewable Energy Engineering and Construction, has been selected by Granite Reliable Power, a partner of Brookfield Renewable Power and Freshet Wind Energy, for the construction of the 99 MW Granite Reliable Wind Farm in Coos County in New Hampshire.
Kim Osmars, COO of Brookfield Renewable Power, US has commented that they were delighted to commence the construction work on the Granite Reliable Wind Farm. This project was expected to bring several benefits to the region and hence it was essential that a company with experience should be chosen to do so. According to him, RMT was greatly suitable and he further stated that the company was eagerly waiting to work with RMT, and together complete the construction of the Wind Farm safely.
RMT is to provide the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) work for both the electrical and civil infrastructure, which would also include installing 33 Vestas V 90 3.0 MW wind turbines. The civil infrastructure would consist of roads, pads, crane paths and turbine foundations, while the electrical infrastructure included a 5.8 mile 115kV Overhead power line, a 34.5 kV overhead and underground collection system, a substation along with an inter-connection to the New Hampshire’s Public Service System. RMT would also carry out the tower erection and construct a 5000 SF operations and Maintenance Building.
David Kutcher, who is the Chief Commercial Officer of RMT stated that Brookfield was a well known leader in Renewable Energy development and operations, and has more than 165 hydroelectric generation facilities and also several large wind energy facilities in Canada to their credit. He mentioned that their company was ready and waiting to team up with such a world class organization. Upon completion, the Granite Reliable Wind Farm would be the biggest utility scale wind energy plant in New Hampshire, with a capacity to power around 25,000 households on an annual basis. The facility would begin operations by the end of the current year.
