Juhl Wind Announces Acquisition of Woodstock Hills Wind Farm

Juhl Wind, a community wind power company, declared that it has assumed total possession of the 10.2 MW Woodstock Hills wind farm, placed closed to its headquarters located in Woodstock, Minnesota. Similar to its other wind farms, this wind farm was also developed by Juhl.

The Woodstock Hills wind farm was previously possessed by Juhl along with two known companies engaged in energy business and participated in the partnership as institutional investors. The wind farm designed to produce 10.2 MW power incorporates 17 Vestas V-44 wind turbines. The power generated from the facility is traded to Xcel Energy under a long-term power purchase accord.

Juhl is said to have paid around $400,000 to get 99.9% controlling ownership interest of the facility and a local owner possess the balance 0.1% shares. The company anticipates continuing with the present annual revenue of $1.2 million per year. The acquisition has received the necessary approval from the independent directors of the Juhl Wind’s board of directors depending on an independent financial analysis of the transaction.
