GC China Turbine declared that it has plans to shift its wind turbine manufacturing from its East-Lake Development Zone located assembly facility to a temporary assembly workshop to be furnished by the Wuhan Municipal Government.
The company will ultimately move its manufacturing and assembly facility to Taonan, Jilin Province with a capability to manufacture 500 MW worth wind power generation equipment (200 units of 2.5 MW turbine units) per year. The company plans to retain its administrative offices in Wuhan.
The present assembly facility of the company is located over an area of 36,000m2 in Wuhan’s East-Lake Development Zone. The assembly was initially designed to manufacture components for small sized aircrafts. Being the lone wind power generation equipment production company in Hubei Province, the company got the manufacturing facility from the Wuhan Municipal Government freely in 2006 to produce and assemble wind turbine parts.
GC China, has earlier made an announcement to manufacture 2.5 MW wind turbines from its current facility at the East-Lake Development Zone but gave it up since the production facility created to endure lower level tonnage cranes was not equipped to handle the construction requirements of the high end 2.5 MW wind turbines.
