Chevron Energy Solutions, a company that develops and constructs renewable energy projects, has declared the conclusion of the K-12 solar program it undertook with East Side Union High School District.
The program has constructed a total of 7.1 MW solar power generation projects on 13 locations and will allow the school district to save around $43 million on power spending.
Chevron Energy Solutions has designed and built the installations for the school district and it will continue to operate and maintain the installations. It has installed measures to guarantee the performance of the solar systems for the school district. The company in addition to the solar installation has also assisted the school district in is lighting upgrades and erection of efficient power motors for use.
The solar installation program is anticipated to cut down the amount of money spent by the East Side Union High School District towards utility power purchase by over 55%. The solar solutions delivered by Chevron Energy will also enable the teachers of the school district to use the solar installation as a laboratory to impart ecological awareness among the students. The power generated from the installations will offset around 4,900 metric tons of carbon dioxide every year, which can be equated to developing new pine forests over 800 football fields.
