Northern Heat Pump manufactures Xterra Series Forcair geothermal heat pumps. The heat pump is a water-to-air unit that uses forced air distribution system. This enables the geothermal heat pump to provide cooling and heating through the conventional duct work system. The heat pump is suitable for installing in new as well as retrofit home construction. The cabinet of the heat pump is made of stainless steel and it is insulated. The cabinet is designed with removable side panels.
The Xterra Series Forcair geothermal heat pump does not emit toxic gasses or carbon dioxide. The heat pump is equipped with R410a refrigerant, a non-ozone depleting material. The ECM blower motor, included in the heat pump, is factory programmed to give maximum performance. The blower motor provides variable speed. As a standard feature, the geothermal heat pump incorporates left hand air return. However, right hand air return is also available as an option.
The Xterra Series Forcair geothermal heat pump is provided with copper ground loop heat exchanger as a standard feature, and cupro-nickel ground loop heat exchanger as an optional feature. The heat pump offers high as well as low pressure compressor protection. The geothermal heat pump, offered by Northern Heat Pump, is equipped with an inbuilt condensate trap. With the electronic LED indictors, service diagnostics of the system can be easily done. The geothermal heat pump can be controlled through conventional or digital thermostat.
