Lighthouse Solar is offering a solar financing program, SolarSaver, to the homeowners of Colorado. Two financing options are available in this program: The SolarSaver Lease and the SolarSaver PPA.
Customers opting for SolarSaver PPA (power purchase agreement) need to pay only for the electricity produced by their solar photovoltaic systems at a fixed rate. This fixed rate is usually on par with the utility rate or below. The benefit to customers opting for this program is that they will be paying only for the power produced by their systems. Customers opting for the SolarSaver Lease have to a pay a fixed amount every month irrespective of the power produced by their solar systems. When compared to utility rates, both the financing options offer savings of about 20% over the period of the agreement to its customers.
Lighthouse Solar is offering this unique solar financing program only to its customers who are on the Xcel Energy grid. The other requirement is that the area or roof where the system has to installed should be in good condition and should be free of shade.
Scott Franklin, President of Lighthouse Solar, said that the main obstacle for customers considering installing solar systems is the initial capital investment. He added that with the introduction of this novel solar financing scheme, the obstacle is removed for its customers. He commented that the company is delighted to offer this scheme which benefits both the customers and the company.
