Solarfun Power Holdings Supports Photovoltaic Technology Research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Solarfun Power Holdings, a leading manufacturer of solar products in China, has announced that the company will be donating RMB1 million over a period for five years to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The department of physics at the university is intending to create scholarships for photovoltaic technology research and the donation from the company is to support the creation of the scholarship.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University is a top grade university in China with a famous photovoltaic research center. The scholarship will help to advance the research in photovoltaic technology, promote the exchange of photovoltaic technology between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Solarfun and as well as to hasten the commercialization of technology developed at the research center in the university.

Peter Xie, President of Solarfun, said that the company is proud to support the physics department at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University in order to create the scholarships for photovoltaic technology research. Peter Xie added that industry has to provide support to education not only for the development of the society but also for the industry’s growth. He lauded the university’s commitment to the development of photovoltaic technology through research and the company is proud to support the research activities.
