Tyco Electronics and Armageddon Energy Establish Strategic Partnership

Modular solar energy systems developer Armageddon Energy has struck a strategic partnership and investment with electronic components, undersea telecommunication systems, specialty products and network solutions provider Tyco Electronics.

The relationship will speed up the commercial launch of an innovative solar energy system SolarClover of Armageddon Energy and will also enhance Tyco Electronics’ focus on the residential solar industry. The two companies also inked a supply agreement meant for plug-in electrical connectors, which will facilitate reliable and quick installation of SolarClover.

As per the agreement, Tyco Electronics will offer components to assist provide a comprehensive SolarClover solution to customers and will also help with regulatory and safety certifications. The two companies are likely to share with each other customer requirements information in the residential solar industry.

The SolarClover having 1 kW capacity can be conveniently installed by non-specialists such as general contractors, roofers and electricians. The SolarClover is ideal for the residential solar industry, as it can be installed with minimal installation costs. The SolarClover improves environmental and financial returns for utilities and consumers by focusing on small-sized systems that offset expensive peak power. This solar energy system is likely to be launched commercially in late 2010.
