First Wind Commemorates Fifth Anniversary of Commercial Operations at Milford Wind I Project

First Wind, an independent U.S.-based renewable energy company, today commemorated the fifth anniversary of successful commercial operations of its Milford Wind I project, which spans Beaver and Millard Counties, Utah. Stretching through the desert in southern Utah just outside the town of Milford, in Beaver County, Milford Wind I consists of 97 operating wind turbines with a capacity of 204 megawatts (MW).

Pattern Energy Closes Acquisition of Panhandle 2 Wind Power Facility in Texas

Increasing its operating capacity, Pattern Energy Group Inc., today announced it has closed the acquisition of 147 megawatts (MW) of owned interest in the 182 MW Panhandle 2 Wind facility from Pattern Energy Group LP for a total cash consideration of US$123.8 million. The Panhandle 2 Wind facility, located in Carson County, Texas, is now fully operational.

New Solar Energy System Installation Begins at Verizon's Long Island Headquarters Complex

Work has begun on the installation of a new solar energy system to provide power to Verizon's Long Island headquarters complex in Garden City. The new solar project will place more than 7,000 SunPower solar panels on the roof of Verizon's building at 741 Zeckendorf Blvd., which already generates 6 million kilowatt hours of green energy annually from a fuel-cell system built in 2005.
