A long-term power purchase agreement has been signed by Iberdrola Renewables with M-S-R Public Power Agency. Iberdrola Renewables is about to begin construction of its 50-megawatt Big Horn 2 Wind Project near Bickleton, Washington. Through this agreement, the entire output from the project will be purchased by M-S-R Public Power Agency for a period of 25 years.
Commercial operation in the Whispering Willow Wind Farm-East in Franklin County has been initiated by Interstate Power and Light (IPL), a subsidiary unit of Alliant Energy Corporation. This wind farm in Iowa is the first to be owned and operated by Interstate Power and Light.
