DRI Energy Celebrates Completion of Largest Solar Power System in Anaheim, California

DRI Energy announced that it has completed the largest solar power system in the Anaheim city. The 500 kW solar power system was designed and installed by the company for SA Recycling, a company that is engaged in metal recycling and processing. To mark the completion of the system, SA Recycling held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its headquarters. Mayor of Anaheim, Curt Pringle, presented the key-note speech at the ceremony.

NV Energy and Pattern Energy Group Sign Power Purchase Agreement for Wind Power Project in Nevada

NV Energy has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Pattern Energy Group for the sale of electricity produced from a wind power project that is proposed to be constructed in eastern Nevada.

Greenhouse Gas Services Acquires StormFisher, Expands into Renewable Energy in Canada

Greenhouse Gas Services, with the acquisition of StormFisher, has entered into renewable energy business and into Canada. Greenhouse Gas Services is a venture between GE Energy Financial Services and the AES Corporation and is engaged in investing and developing greenhouse gas reduction projects. StormFisher develops and operates projects that convert agricultural or food byproducts into electricity or natural gas.

Pacific Northwest’s Largest Ground Mount Solar Power System Activated in the City of Gresham

The activation of Pacific Northwest’s largest ground mounted solar power system was celebrated by SunEdison, REC Solar and City of Gresham on February 9. MEMC Electronic Materials’ subsidiary, SunEdison, and the leading solar integrator in the nation, REC Solar, made this solar system possible. The city was not required to pay any capital costs for the project.

Power-Save Energy Company Secures Billboard PV Solar System Contract from California Power-Save

Power-Save Energy Company announced that it has secured a contract from California Power-Save to deliver a complete photovoltaic solar power system. The system will be installed on lighted billboard located in Sonoma County, California. Capitalizing on the incentives under the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program, Power-Save Energy Company and California Power-Save will be installing complete solar systems on Veale Investment Properties’ lighted billboards.

Mercury Solar Systems Acquires Philadelphia-Based Eos Energy Solutions

East Coast’s largest solar integrator, Mercury Solar Systems, has acquired Philadelphia-based Eos Energy Solutions, a rapidly growing solar integrator in Pennsylvania. The acquisition will help Mercury Solar Systems to expand its operations in the Eastern Seaboard spanning New Jersey, Connecticut, New York (Westchester, Long Island and New York's five boroughs), and Pennsylvania.

United Solar Ovonic Integrates UNI-SOLAR Laminates into a Building Designed by Mario Botta in Italy

Energy Conversion Devices’ wholly owned subsidiary, United Solar Ovonic, announced that its flexible and lightweight UNI-Solar laminates have been installed on a building designed by Mario Botta, a well-known architect. The building, which houses office, retail and apartments, features curved, retractable rooftop. The PV system installed on the rooftop comprises these lightweight laminates.

5.5kW Family Size Hybrid Solar Power Systems from Rain or Shine

Rain or Shine provides different kinds of grid-tied solar electric power system including the 5.5kW family size hybrid system. The solar power system includes 12 solar modules, manufactured by Sanyo. Each solar module has a rated power of 190 watts. This solar electric system is equipped with eight Surrette S530 batteries that feature 400 ampere hours. The charge controller of the solar PV system is an Outback M60 model.

Skyline Solar Water Heating Collectors from Wise Power Systems

Wise Power Systems supplies the Skyline brand of solar water heating collectors. The Skyline 10-01 solar water heating collector has a total weight of 19 pounds and length, width and thickness of 6 feet, 20 inches and 3 inches, respectively. The feed and return of the collector are located at the same end with a spacing of two inches between them. This spacing facilitates easy stacking of as many as six collectors one above the other. In case of a side by side configuration, a total of 12 Skyline 10-01 solar collectors can be stacked together.
