ALSTOM ECO 100 Wind Turbine from ALSTOM

ALSTOM offers the ECO 100 Wind Turbine. This wind turbine is suitable for use in medium and low wind locations. The rotor incorporated in the ECO 100 wind turbine measures 100.8 m in length and offers a swept area of 7980 m². This upwind type of rotor incorporates three blades and offers a speed ranging from 7.94 to 14.3 rpm.

The ECO 100 wind turbine starts rotating at a cut in wind speed of 3 m/s and gradually ceases its operations at 25 m/s speed and totally stops its rotation when the wind speed reaches 34 m/s. The graded power of this wind turbine is 3.0 MW. This wind turbine incorporates a patented ALSTOM PURE TORQUE design to isolate the deflection forces created by the heavy movement of the rotor from the pure rotor torsion required for power production and protects the gear box.

ALSTOM ECO 100 Wind Turbine

The wide bodied nacelle incorporated in the wind turbine comprises a central nacelle, two housings on the sides and a hub and allows easy access for maintenance. The electrical yaw and pitch control incorporated in this wind turbine maintains the rotor speed stably and cuts off the rotation during excessive winds. The SCADA system incorporated in the turbine offers access to all the wind turbine data from remote for optimal operation and regular maintenance. The ECO 100 Wind Turbine offered by ALSTOM is compatible for grid connectivity and has inbuilt features such as line fault ride through and reactive power injection. This wind turbine incorporates a gear box with active, cooler with forced ventilation type of cooling system and forced oil lubrication system. The stator generator incorporated in the turbine produces a voltage of 1000 V and is IP54 protected.

The ECO 100 wind turbine incorporates a variable speed, independent pitch control for each blade as power control and additionally a wound rotor and power electronics power control is incorporated. The ECO 100 wind turbine starts rotating at a cut in wind speed of 3 m/s and gradually ceases its operations at 25 m/s speed and totally stops its rotation when the wind speed reaches 34 m/s. The graded power of this wind turbine is 3.0 MW.
