Multibrid M5000 Wind Turbine from Multibrid GmbH

Multibrid GmbH offers the Multibrid M5000 wind turbine. The Multibrid M5000 wind turbine incorporates a 116 m diameter rotor and three blades and offers a swept area of 10.568 m². The rotor whirls speed in the ranges of 5.9–14.8min-1 ± 10% and starts producing power at 14.8 min-1 speed. The tilt angle of the rotor is 5º and its cone angle is -2º. The rotor blades made of carbon fibre girders are light in weight and aerodynamically designed for increased yield and low noise.

The individual electrical blade pitch deployed in the wind turbine allows active blade adjustment during extreme wind conditions for safety. The blade pitch system is located inside the sealed rotor hub for protection. The Multibrid M5000 wind turbine incorporates a step helical planetary gear. The bearing and gearbox of this wind turbine is set in such a way to prevent the impact of dynamic load transferred from the hub to the machine by utilizing a tapered roller bearing in TDO configuration. This gear box runs in 1:9.92 ratios and offers a torque of 3.575 kNm and a power of 5.540 kW. The Multibrid M5000 wind turbine offered by Multibrid GmbH incorporates a permanent magnet synchronous generator with a power capacity of 5.315 kW and performs in speed ranges 58.6–146.9 min–1. This water cooled generator is IP54 protected and connected to the grid using a 4Q converter.

This wind turbine starts its operations at 4 m/s wind speed, produces its maximum power at 12 m/s speed and shuts down its operations when the wind speed reaches 25 m/s. The unique air treatment facility incorporated in the M5000 sucks the external air and cleanses it in a number of stages to filter salt particles and moisture thus allowing salt free ambient air inside the turbine to prevent salt damages.
