Xebec Adsorption Inc. is likely to deliver a biogas upgrading facility to WELtec BioPower GmbH for a new biogas project in Wuxi, China. Xebec Adsorption provides biogas upgrading, hydrogen purification and natural gas solutions targeted at the clean energy industry.
The Vice President of Xebec Adsorption’s Asia Pacific Operations Andrew Hall commented that WELtec BioPower has supplied more than 200 sophisticated anaerobic digestion systems to projects throughout the world. Moreover, China has a huge potential to become one among the largest markets in the world for biogas projects in commercial scale.
In early 2010, WELtec BioPower sold an integrated energy production and biogas generation facility to an investor situated in Wuxi, China. In this project, biogas is likely to be produced from waste rice straw and pig manure in two anaerobic digesters delivered by WELtec BioPower. The biogas produced will either be used for generating electricity by utilizing a biogas engine with 375 kW capacity or be upgraded in a plant of Xebec Adsorption for producing CNG vehicle fuel. The renewable CNG generated from this facility will be utilized as fuel for CNG-powered forklifts and sold to customers of natural gas in the area of Wuxi.
