Petra Solar, a clean technology company based in South Plainfield, has been selected to receive a Green Jobs award by Green For All and SJF Institute. The award is given to private firms that contribute to the environment and economy.
Petra Solar was selected for the award for of its contributions towards environmental quality, the range of employment opportunities, the level of engagement in the community, and the quality of benefits and jobs. The award was given to the company on November 16 at the Citi Executive Conference Center, New York City.
The company produces the SunWave systems that offer a complete utility grade solution by combining the electric grid improvement functions and smart-grid communications with distributed solar energy production. The systems are especially designed to be installed on utility distribution poles and other existing structures.
