Second Wind is making its presence felt in the European wind energy market through tactical partnerships, new sales, and by remaining a member of the wind energy association of European Union.
Second Wind has already made inroads in the European markets as a designer and developer of tower located wind resource appraisal systems and the company is growing further in the European segment due to the increased usage of its Triton Sonic Wind Profiler. More than 40 units of Wind Profilers have been deployed in many places all over Europe. The company is planning to introduce its latest version of Triton with heat facility at the proposed European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) Conference to be held in Brussels next week. The new version with an incorporated catalytic heater will melt and remove the snow from the surface of the sound reverberating mirror to facilitate high quality data retrieval even in high level snowfall periods. The company has proved the effectiveness of the usage by deploying nearly 150 heater incorporated systems all over North America during the last two winter seasons.
The company is planning to distribute a poster titled, "Using Sodar Wind Speed Measurements for Wind Turbine Power Curves,” to the wind power developers, researchers, suppliers and operators in the EWEA conference. The poster will have the details of the study conducted at the Netherlands Energy Research Centre (ECN). The company is also planning to showcase its SkyServe wind data service during the conference. It is a cloud-based wind data service that gets the tower-based and Triton data into a single dashboard, save it on a protected server and allows the clients to access their own data utilizing the web.
