Suzlon Group, a wind turbine producer in India, declared that it has contracted an accord with Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals (GSFC), a public sector undertaking of the Gujarat government manufacturing fertilizers and chemicals.
The signed accord will require Suzlon, to install, operate and manage wind projects that are designed to generate a total of 50.4 MW power.
The proposed wind projects to be set up in the Rajkot and Surendranagar districts in Gujarat by Suzlon will incorporate 24 Suzlon S88 wind turbines each designed to generate 2.1 MW power. This order is the fifth order received by Suzlon from GSFC. The project is anticipated to be completed and go on stream by September 2011.
Currently, GSFC generates 73 MW power from its existing projects located in the Porbandar and Kutch districts of Gujarat and with the commissioning of the new project, its total wind power generation capabilities of the company in Gujarat state will go up to 123.4 MW.
