American DG Energy Installs On-Site Cogeneration System at New Jersey High-Rise

American DG has signed an agreement with Government Paterson Towers for supplying them with clean energy.

Onsite Utility

Government Paterson Towers is a residential high-rise building that houses 225 units. According to the agreement, the high-rise will soon be receiving a major portion of its power supply from a 75 kW combined and power (CHP or cogeneration) system that was developed by American DG Energy. With the installation of the CHP system there would be a significant reduction in the amount of emission of greenhouse gases.

American DG will be working with Peter Westerhoff in the project which will be generating electricity, space heating and hot water with clean energy. This clean energy will be available to the residents of the high-rise at a much lower cost when compared to conventional electricity. The Onsite-Utility package will need the residents to only pay for the energy and not for installation and operation of the CHP system. The maintenance and repair work will be the responsibility of American DG as they will own the equipment. CHP systems are eco-friendly as they utilise the heat generated from an on-site boiler for energy generation, which will otherwise go waste. The CHP system that will be installed at Governor Paterson Towers will consist of a CM-75 Ultra manufactured by Tecogen for generating ultra-clean emissions technology. This system does not require pre-construction operation certification, thereby causing savings on time and money spent on project implementation.
