Joliet Junior College, a comprehensive public community college serving over 35,000 students, has installed energy efficient LED lighting products on its campus. In spring, 634 LED flat panels were installed, and they are estimated to provide at least 30% savings in energy consumption.

MaxLitefs LED Edge Lit Flat Panels installed on the campus deliver white, even, consistent and bright lighting for general lighting purposes. These panels have been installed in the administration offices, newly constructed classrooms and the new campus center. The light does not cause shadows or glares, which enables better lighting facility for studying purposes. The optimal lighting also helps employees and professors at the college to work with better efficiency.
The MaxLite LED Edge Lit Flat Panels are suitable for fitting in drop ceilings. They are compatible with various types of building controls, such as daylight harvesting systems, motions sensors, timers, dimmers and other building controls. The lighting has a Color Rendering Index of 85.
The LED panels have a life of 50,000 h, which is equivalent to a life of over 13 years when used for 10 h/ day at the L70 standards. They deliver 3262 lumens of lighting. The MaxLite LED Edge Lit Flat Panels are RoHS compliant, and are also ETL and cETL]certified. The product is made without using any hazardous materials, heat, UV/IR radiation or carbon emission.
