SgurrEnergy, Glasgow-based renewable energy consultant, has provided full support for beginning the construction work at the 14.3 MW Bankend Rig wind farm. Despite facing planning restrictions and tight deadlines, the project has reached financial completion. The project is situated on the East Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire borders. Wilson Renewables owns the project.

As a technical advisor, SgurrEnergy offered entire engineer services through its engineering and environmental experts and analysts. Technical support including contractor selection, planning approval and project management negotiation was also provided.

Further, on behalf of Wilson Renewables, SgurrEnergy offered grid connection support and design, ground investigation, access assessment, concept design assessment, wind regime and energy yield testing.

After completing the first planning and design phase, SgurrEnergy also executed the total tender process for monitoring and discharge of planning approvals, noise assessment and remaining plant services. Additionally, they also concluded negotiations for wind turbine supply contract, remaining plant agreements and help for fiscal closure, which also included engineer liaison for lenders.

Furthermore, the technical advice and project management support will prolong even during construction phase. SgurrEnergy will be present in the construction site, review design, monitor the construction and agreements and offer support for site acceptance. The construction of the11-turbine project will continue in the forthcoming months and energy production is anticipated later this year.
