Focus on Energy Introduces New Programs for Wisconsin

Wisconsin utilities’ statewide program for renewable energy and energy efficiency, Focus on Energy has announced that it has celebrated a positive successful year with Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, its new program administrator.

Focus on Energy has introduced a number of new programs for residents and businesses in Wisconsin. The expansion of offerings commenced from May, 2011.

The program director for Focus on Energy, William S. Haas stated that the program aimed to help residents and businesses to save energy through cost-effective measures. The program will decrease the detrimental effects on the environment.

For implementation of new energy efficiency programs, Focus on Energy has used a competitive procurement process for choosing the contractors. It has opened new offices and created over 90 jobs, thus boosting the local economy. When compared to the previous year, it has reduced its costs by around $6 million.

Jolene Sheil, Director at Focus on Energy, stated that greater energy savings were being realized due to more funds being allotted for program incentives.

The new business programs include chains and franchises, large energy users and a business incentive program. These programs provide custom and prescriptive incentives for installation of energy-efficient systems and technologies for retailers, energy-intensive businesses and normal businesses.

For residences, it offers numerous programs such as home performance with ENERGY STAR, assisted home performance with ENERGY STAR, express energy efficiency, new homes, ENERGY STAR lighting, appliance recycling program, residential rewards, home heating assistance and multifamily energy savings programs.
